Bozeman Deaconess Diabetes Center Earns National Recognition

October 22, 2013

Bozeman Deaconess Diabetes Center has earned three-year recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). NCQA’s Diabetes Recognition Program recognizes clinicians who have met standards demonstrating delivery of high-quality care to patients with diabetes.

Bozeman Deaconess Diabetes Center providers Michael Vlases, MD; Sebastian White, NP; and Leslee Jones, PA-C, were linked specifically to this honor for doing their part to advance quality in health care. This is the second time the center has earned this recognition.

“We are delighted to be recognized by NCQA again for providing quality comprehensive diabetes care. We offer a full complement of clinical and support services aimed at helping children and adults, including pregnant women, manage this complex disease,” Dr. Vlases said. “Our patient-centered program focuses on clinical, educational and psychosocial needs. Ultimately, our goal is to help patients live healthy lives and prevent the devastating complications of diabetes through diligent disease management.”

“For a person with diabetes, the right clinician can make the difference between living with diabetes as opposed to suffering from diabetes,” said Margaret E. O’Kane, President, National Committee for Quality Assurance. “By earning recognition, Bozeman Deaconess Diabetes Center has demonstrated that they provide effective, evidence-based care to their patients with diabetes.”
